GOD'S GOT YOU // SEPTEMBER 23, 2022
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7
As a parent watches over a toddler's every step, God watches over our way. Parents redirect toddlers heading into a danger zone, as God redirects us -- even within our anxious thoughts.
A doctor would not prescribe us medicine without seeing us first. He listens to our symptoms, examines our bodies and prescribes a treatment. We wouldn't accept his prescription if he hasn't seen us and doesn't really know what's going on. God watches over our way, so we know his treatments are sound. He also sees what's on the other side of us -- the things we can't see. He hears the condition of our hearts and helps us hear it, too. He helps us ask better questions of ourselves, redirecting our very perceptions. God sees us, knows us and cares for us.
What anxieties are you facing today? Take time and share your anxious thoughts with him. What are your fears? Why do you fear them? After casting all your anxiety onto him, spend time reading and thinking about Isaiah 61:3. Know that God provides for you when you're grieved, turning your ashes into beauty. Thank him for how he will crown you with joy instead of mourning and praise instead of despair.
