Don't Look Back – Day 2

"Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me."

Ezekiel 16:49-50a

Sodom was well known for it's immorality and sexual sin, but God noted their haughty arrogance, overfeeding and lack of concern for others. Were they doing the things he actually cared about?

That's a word for us today! Jesus is building his church. We're blessed to be a blessing -- to serve, love and give to others. He prospers us so we can be the church! Sodom lived for itself and wasn't others-minded but instead fed its pride, arrogance and comfort. When we forget what we're about, we get stuck living for ourselves.

Do you feel stuck today? Consider the ways you're living for others. Sometimes we think we don't have the time, the resources or the ability to think about someone else because we have our own problems. But God's economy works differently. When we give, it's given to us. Step out in faith today, and tell God you want to live for others. Ask him to give you a heart to care about what he cares about. Build his people, and as you go about building his house, you'll be amazed at how he prospers you and cares for your house!
