On The Brink - Day 3

"When the Lord your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you -- a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant -- then when you eat and are satisfied, be careful that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery."

Deuteronomy 6:10-12

The Israelites were told to remember a profound truth about the Promised Land. They would enjoy fruit planted by others, live in houses they didn't build, and inhabit cities they didn't establish. They wouldn't have to earn these things; God would graciously give them these blessings.

Just as God was gracious with the Israelites, he is full of grace for us! Sometimes, though, we forsake the gift of God's grace because of our sense of guilt and feelings of shame. We disqualify ourselves from being candidates of his grace because we are aware of our own shortcomings. We forget that grace can't be earned. Grace is a gift that's freely given!

Will you be driven by the guilt of yesterday, or led by the grace of today? Choose to receive God's forgiveness for past mistakes, and look ahead to the good things he has in store! There is no shortage to God’s grace, and there are no circumstances where it's not available! Receive his grace today!
