CHANGING ATMOSPHERE // SEPTEMBER 25, 2023
In the second year of his reign, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; his mind was troubled and he could not sleep.
Daniel 2:1
The atmosphere in the king's palace changed drastically. The king highly esteemed Daniel and his friends, recognizing them and giving them security. Until the king became troubled by a dream, and he couldn't sleep at night.
Shakespeare said, "Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown." The king was emotional and unpredictable, worried about the future: How long would his kingdom last? How long would he rule? He wondered and worried. Things of great significance can cause great stress.
What atmosphere has changed in your world? You may have thought getting married would create less stress; getting that promotion would make life easier; or having kids would be a dream come true. But with more responsibility comes more sacrifice, accountability ... and reward. Your atmosphere may have shifted, but God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Spend time laying your responsibility, emotions and worry at his feet. He can move you beyond worry or regret and give you a new vision for your future. Talk about a turnaround!
